Craig A Nausley, DVM
Dr. Nausley founded Briarcrest Animal Clinic in 1980 and Canyon Pet Clinic in 1986. The two clinics were combined in one location in January of 2008. The new name became Briarcrest Veterinary Care Center and is housed in a new, modern, hospital building constructed for the practice. Dr. Nausley graduated from the University of Missouri in 1978. He is the hospital director. His practice interests include endoscopy, orthopedics, ultrasound and sports medicine. He has completed advanced training in these areas. Dr. Nausley has a mixed breed dog named Maggy and a cat named Stanley.
Suzie Maki, DVM
Dr. Suzie Maki graduated from Colorado State University Veterinary School of Medicine in 2009. Dr. Maki completed advanced training with a general rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, where she continued to work as an Emergency veterinarian until joining Briarcrest. Dr. Maki is married and owns three rescue dogs – a Chihuahua, Jack Russell mix and a yellow Lab. Dr. Maki was born in South Dakota but raised in Tucson from the time she was 3 years old, actually right by Briarcrest Veterinary Care Center. She attended Salpointe Catholic High School and graduated from University of Arizona with her bachelor of science. Go CATS! Dr. Maki’s compassion, diligence to diagnosis and improve animal welfare makes her a great fit for Briarcrest.
Kerry Collins, DVM
Dr. Kerry Collins, born and raised in Iowa, completed her undergraduate and veterinary training at Iowa State University in 2003. After practicing near her hometown for 2 years in a mixed animal practice, she relocated to Tucson Arizona to enjoy year round warmth and sunshine. Dr. Collins has practiced in Tucson since 2005 as both a critical care/emergency and general practice doctor and enthusiastically joined the Briarcrest family in March 2016. Her commitment to providing compassionate and superior care for her patients matches that of Briarcrest’s. She has completed advanced training in veterinary dentistry and diagnostic ultrasound. Additional interests include internal medicine, preventative care, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Collins loves Arizona, where she met and married her husband, Sean. They have a three-legged German Shepherd (Lily) and a Chihuahua-Maltipoo (Oliver). In their free time, Dr. Collins and her husband Sean enjoy hiking, running, road biking, and have completed several triathlons.
Robin Decarlo – Practice Manager
Robin joined Briarcrest Animal Clinic and Canyon Pet Clinic in July of 1992 as the Office Manager and has worked her way up to her current position of Practice Manager. Prior to joining the Briarcrest team, Robin moved to Tucson from Chicago to own and operate a franchise pet store. In Chicago Robin worked for Montgomery Ward from 1976 to 1989, starting in retail sales and leaving as a financial analyst in the corporate office. Robin graduated from Drake University in 1976 with a degree in comercial art/graphic design. She is interested in obedience training, and canine psychology. Robin currently has a dog Heide and two desert tortoises named Desi and Torti.
Joleen Miller CVT – Certified Veterinary Technician
JoLeen joined Briarcrest in July 2002 during her externship from Pima Medical Institute. JoLeen graduated from Pima Community College in May 2002 with an Associates in Science, and she is pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Agriculture form the University of Arizona. In March 2006, JoLeen passed the national and state boards to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. JoLeen currently is the head technician and technical supervisor. She enjoys taking courses on radiology and dentistry. Joleen has a Labrador named Mocha and two cats, Hopscotch and Starlight.
Sara Robles CVT – Certified Veterinary Technician
Sara joined Briarcrest in August 2016. She is a graduate of Penn Foster College – Veterinary Technician Program. She graduated in February 2016. In December 2016 Sara passed the national and state boards to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Sara has a Chow named Hera, an Akita named Poseidon, and a Dachshund mix named Athena.
In addition to the above, Briarcrest employs a dedicated team of highly trained receptionists, assistants, technicians, and animal care personel.
